FIVE (5): an unFold Poetry Contest

It’s that time of year again: unFold Poetry Contest time! Since this year marks unFold’s fifth anniversary bringing you Twitter poems from all over the world, we decided to make the prompt for this year’s contest FIVE (5).

New Poetry Month Titles

In honor of National Poetry Month, we launched two new titles today: 1) Catherine Sophia’s Elbow, a novel-in-verse by Darla K. Crist, 2) Hints, a chapbook of micro-poems by Rose Auslander.

Chapfest 2014

Last week, Rose and I had the privilege of representing Folded Word at CUNY’s 6th Annual Chapbook Festival. The format of the festival changed from last year, so there were events all over Manhattan for three days, with the book fair portion compressed into one day during the work week. Celebrating 1000 Tweeps

We’d like to take a moment to thank our 1000 followers on Twitter by offering all our followers: 1) a free ebook from our backlist and 2) a chance to win a print copy of WOR(L)DS APART from our frontlist.

Folded Trek Bay Area

Rose Auslander (our Poetry Editor) was in San Francisco on a business trip for her day job at the beginning of this week, so I decided to make the 2ish hour trek down to sneak in some lunch at the airport before she flew home. What a blast to have an editorial meeting in person, discussing edits and plans for our forthcoming chapbooks and books!

Windowsill Whirlwind

What a week! Thanks to the kind folks at Capital Public Radio and the Northern California Publishers & Authors, this week will be one to remember:

Meeting in Boston

unFold Salutes NaNoWriMo

As you may or may not have noticed, many of November’s unFold poems have featured some aspect of the writing life. This correlates nicely with NaNoWriMo, so we are now officially calling it the November theme.

A November that Rocks

Are you ready for a crazy, jam-packed month of literary goodness? We are. November at Folded Word will burst at the seams with a Twitter zine launch and the release of two chapbooks.

unFold unfolds 2 November 2009

As we make the final preparations to launch our new poetry Twitter-zine, we thought you might like to know who’ll be featured in the first few issues.
