Exploring the world, one voice at a time.
poems by Jeanine Stevens
70 pages, 5×7 paperback
On this pilgrimage through frozen vineyards and shadowed chapels to cross borders that never were, on this trek among all we have discarded and forgotten — a pot with one handle missing, a ladder with splintered rungs — we walk past whispers of strange flowers, only to find thorn trees that “twist and hover.” And yet, as we wade along the shrinking shoreline, the sun “glosses over the mountains.” And looking toward silver spires as evening comes, we find ourselves “unhinged by stars.” Jeanine Stevens’ Citadels is a luminous read.
