#WonderFold is a monthly feature that includes a prompt-based writing challenge one month, followed by the publication of a winning response the next month.
INVITATION: All art grows out of paying attention: in sight, sound, scent, taste & touch. You are invited to craft a written response (poetry or prose, 50 words or less) to the image and scene below:
SCENE: A summer breeze passes through the garden. The continual squeak of the trampoline and accompanied laughter of two children adds to the playfulness of the day. Cottonwood seeds fill the air. So many colorful accents. So many promises. The path winds along the zinnias. This is a place to pause. The trampoline now at rest. The two neighborhood children ride away on one bike, the younger holding tight to the older.
RESPONSE: Combining the sensory information in the scene/photos above with your own experience/imagination, write a short poem or paragraph in response. JS Graustein (Editor in Chief) will select one response to be highlighted on the blog and its author will receive a free chapbook (choice from stock on-hand). Enter your poem/paragraph in the form below no later than 21:00 Eastern on 9 July 2017. The winning response will be announced/posted 15 July 2017, and its author sent a list of chapbooks to choose from.
