Sophronia’s Island Debut
Martha’s Vineyard native Tim Bridwell gave his island community a sneak peek at his debut novel earlier this month thanks to Edgartown Books‘ “Meet Our Vineyard Authors” event. Tim had the privilege of sitting on the porch in perfect weather with Sophronia L. by his side, chatting with readers and signing copies of his book, due out 1 December 2014.
Yes that’s right: people who bought a copy at the event were the first ones to hold/read this historical fiction tale about the 19th century whaling industry and how it intersected with the Wampanoag & deaf communities on Martha’s Vineyard. If you’d like to get your hands on a copy before the rest of the world does, you can still buy one at Edgartown Books. If you’re not a vineyarder, you can order one from our shop at Big Cartel. We’ll be shipping signed pre-order copies once a month between now and Soprhonia L.‘s official launch.
