Award Winning Paper House

NCPA plaque and program:-)

It’s official. Folded Word and Jessie Carty have their first award winning book. Over the weekend, Paper House won the Northern California Publishers & Authors’ 2011 Best Poetry Book Award! J.S. represented the book at the awards dinner, walking to the front to receive the award while the Host read through the book’s production credits in a surreal pseudo-Oscars moment. Jessie’s quote on her blog this morning provided an asynchronous acceptance speech:

I always have a hard time shouting out about myself (which is ironic – I know – given a job interview tomorrow!) but I want to thank my publisher Folded Word Press profusely for making my first full length book Paper House the terrific book it is (and the great work on the handmade The Wait of Atom chapbooks – my 2nd chapbook).

To celebrate this achievement and make it easier for Jessie’s fans to share her work with others, we’re having a 3 for 1 sale at our shop. Between now and 15 June 2011, buy a print copy of Paper House (signed or unsigned) and receive a second copy plus an e-book copy free. Worldwide shipping is included in the prices of the options at our shop. And just look at the bling the book now gets to wear:

Want a(nother) copy?

Not bad for a 1st birthday present, don’t you think?
